False Altars and the Forgotten Christ: Paul Would’ve Wept

#MolueMonologue:

Lights dim. The Molue rumbles through traffic. A lone voice rises above the noise… deliberate, grave, reflective.

Better still—imagine if St. Paul preached prosperity.

Almost every wound in the world today flows from false Christianity.
Even the slave trade.

Imagine if the church had stood against it.
Imagine if they had said:

“The fields of America shall be tilled by workers—immigrants, who may return with dignity.”

But the church failed.
The lure of filthy lucre was too strong.

Picture this:
Paul at the helm in the 1490s, when Africans were first stolen and chained neck to neck. (Have you seen any of this pictures? Let me help you see that which once seen cannot be unseen.... Let me help you....

Would slavery have survived?

Yes, Paul told slaves to obey their masters—
but what else could a powerless man advise?

The true gospel is non-violence.
Non-resistance.

Yet imagine Paul at the helm of the 15th-century church, calling the shots.
How different would history have been?

Back to square one:
Imagine if evangelicals taught the truth.

Instead, they built fortresses of falsehood.
Paul, recast as Creflo, Suleiman, Jesse Duplantis…
preaching envy, competition, chasing prizes, boasting in wealth.

Is this the Christ you follow?
A Christ of gold?
A Christ of riches?
A Christ who crowns the proud with kingdoms, with fame, with power?

Take a bow.
You’ve outgrown the apostles.
You’ve found a “truth” they never touched.

You’ve replaced fellowship with the Spirit
with fellowship with Mammon.

You’ve traded salvation’s joy
for the rapture of filthy lucre.

And this—this pile of riches—
is what you dare present to the Son of God?
On Judgment Day?

Now perhaps you hear Him rightly:

“I never knew you.
Depart from me, you worker of iniquity.”

But there is hope.
For those who can still read.
For those who can still bend the knee.

Find it now.
Today.
Especially in this season of Lent.
