The Poster in the Molue
I once saw a poster inside a Molue that read:
“Keep your eyes peeled. The Antichrist is here‼️”
And I wondered—
why is no one talking about this?
Why do I only see such warnings inside Molues?
Then it dawned on me:
Nigeria has become a Christian wilderness.
And in this wilderness, there is but one voice—
one lone cry, earnestly calling the people to repentance.
The voice of the Old Man in Kwara.
The Old Man in Kwara
To be honest,
I may have been writing about him all these years
without realizing he truly exists.
For deep down,
I always knew the Lord would never leave His people without a true witness—
a shepherd after His own heart.
One of lowly spirit.
One who understands.
Understands because he lived among them.
Walked their path.
And rode with them—in the lowly Molue.
I will not mention his name,
but you know him—
the #OldManInKwara.
Seek him.
Pray for him.
Gather your friends, your family, and listen to his homilies together.
For the times are evil.
Having a Form of Godliness
“Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof.”
(2 Timothy 3:5)
That verse—
is no longer just a line in Scripture.
It is upon us.
Peel your eyes.
The Antichrist is here‼️
Have a great Friday.
—
(He pauses. Then smiles faintly.)
A Few Notes…
Many know 2 Timothy 3:1–9—
which speaks of perilous times and perilous men…
…but few go on to read what immediately follows.
I implore you:
Read them—verses 10 through 13—
and then ask yourself:
“Why do I still believe this?
Why do I still think it is true?”
A Faith of Sacrifice
Brethren,
Christianity is a faith of sacrifice.
A narrow gate.
It is the way of self-denial, of long-suffering,
of persecution,
of deprivation for the gospel’s sake—
…or it is nothing at all.
(He sighs.)
Why am I the one to keep hammering on these things?
Ahhh, I get it.
You’re speaking silently…
Your light is carefully hid—
Under a bushel, yea?
Carefully hid under a bushel…
Ok!
Thanks for your disservice—
Sorry…
Your service.
The Man of God and the Word of God
2 Timothy 3:10–17
“But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions…
And out of them all the Lord delivered me.
Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
But you must continue in the things which you have learned…
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Now go back—
Start again.
From verse 1 to verse 9.
The Perilous Times
2 Timothy 3:1–9
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers,
without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty,
lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
having a form of godliness but denying its power.
And from such people turn away!”
(He closes the Bible slowly.)
Where was I?
Ahhhh… yes.
Keep your eyes peeled.
The Antichrist is here.
(He exhales, long and weary.)
Final Word
Let me rest.
